Albert, the famous Burbidge’s Baker, has had a make over, courtesy of Jestyn Thomas, a local, who promised to give Albert a new lease of life and has not failed in his task.
The transformation has taken only three days and sees Albert looking shiny and fresh with a new glint in his eye with perfectly topped cherry buns on his baker tray.
Albert was bought by Steve Burbidge at an auction some 30 years ago and has become a key landmark in Andover, always standing proudly outside of the shop when it is open and tucked up safely at night. Steve told Andover and Villages that Albert had stood the test of time and his residence had spanned generations of the locally famous baking family. Andover and Villages asked Steve, ‘Why Jestyn for the paint job?’ Steve told us that Jestyn has been a loyal customer for many years and he was the perfect choice.
I am so pleased Albert has had a make over and look forward to seeing him standing proudly outside this family run local business next time I am driving down the Weyhill Road, do stop in and taste the wares of the Burbidges Bakery if you haven’t already.
Jestyn told Andover and Villages that the project with Albert has been great fun and he has really enjoyed doing it, the best part for him was bringing Albert back to life along with the creation of the cakes and breads on the tray.
If you need any spray work completed on your Baker or other unusual items along with the more standard car sprays, please do get in touch with Jestyn via his website: www.thruxtonjaguar.co.uk
