Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance attended an incident in Berry Way in Andover this evening (20th April 2015) along with an ambulance from South Central Ambulance Service and Hampshire Police.

Details of the incident have not yet been confirmed, but an eye witness said that they thought they heard a child being taken away in the helicopter.

Another eye witness reported that a child had been knocked over by a car and had broken his leg.

The Helicopter is based at Thruxton Airfield near Andover and is called out every day.

The Air Ambulance crew provide an efficient, prompt response to road traffic collisions, sporting accidents, collapses, and many other incidents throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

The Helicopter is called out many times per day, and these missions are often life-saving.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance is completely funded by charitable donations.
