After a collision between a lorry and a cyclist, the A303 will be shut for some time, Wiltshire Police confirm.
The accident was on the western road south of Solstice Park, in the area of Amesbury, around midday today, Monday 23rd September 2019.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after midday today (Monday, September 23) we were called to a collision between a lorry and a cyclist on the westbound carriageway of the A303, east of Solstice Park.
“Emergency services remain at the scene and the westbound carriageway is expected to remain closed for some time.
“We are urging motorists to avoid the area and find alternative routes.”
A spokesperson for the SCAS, South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called before 12:10pm to a road traffic collision involving a lorry on the A303.
“We’ve sent several resources to the scene including critical paramedics.”
Police have placed diversions in place via the A338 and the A345.
