Andover and District Mencap client Alastair Scales and his support worker Gary Nicklin will be trekking 27 miles across the Peak District on Saturday 5th September to raise vital money for the local charity who support people of all ages who suffer from learning disabilities.
In context with the charity’s mission – to enable choice and independence for its clients so that they can live their lives to the full – Alastair and Gary will not only be trekking the 27 miles but they have the added difficulty of overcoming the steep hills and rough terrain AND having only 12 hours to complete the course.
Gary said, “I’ve been looking for a challenge for a while and when I saw the Peak Trek it was really something that I knew would test me. When Alastair said that he wanted to join me we both agreed that it would be a fantastic idea to raise money for Andover and District Mencap”.
