Andover’s Harmonium Singers had a busy Christmas entertaining locals with their beautiful singing in various locations around the town.
Andover and Villages spoke to Veronica Bacon from the singing group who said, “On behalf of the Harmonium Singers I would like to thank everyone who supported our ‘Darkness to Light’ Christmas concert at St. Mary’s Church, Andover on 13 December. A short address was given by Pauline Owen about the work of the Motor Neurone Disease Association and her efforts to develop support services specifically for the Andover area. We were able to make a donation of £720 to the Association raised from ticket and programme sales and donations on the night.
“In addition, thanks also to those who supported our Carol Singing at Tesco River Way and Lilleywhite Crescent which enabled us to make a donation of £225 to the Andover Food Bank
“Thanks must also go to the Lights and Newbury Building Society for selling tickets and to all those publications and businesses that helped us with publicity.
“We hope you will be able to join us in 2015 on Saturday 20 June at St. Mary’s Andover when we will be performing music which will include Vivaldi’s Gloria with the Linden Baroque Orchestra.”
