Test Valley Borough Council have agreed in principle to plans for 180 homes on Andover Down, 72 of which will be allocated as social housing.
The houses will be on land next to the caravan park that runs alongside Ox Drove and the B3400, with access to the estate from both of these roads.
Concerns from local residents on Ox Drove were raised, during the consultation process, regarding the increase of traffic on the slim country road, to and from the estate, and the suggested new bus routes. The new bus routes have not yet been finalised.
The developer also owns the large plot of land next to the agreed planning area, however this is not yet part of a planning application.
The Section 106 agreement with the developer requests the following is contributed to the local area:
£93,750.00 – Community Hall Contribution – towards the cost of enhancements, improvements or alterations to community buildings at Picket Piece or Picket Twenty.
£910,260.00 – Education Contribution
£841,565.00 – Highways Contribution
£21,420.00 – Public Art Contribution
£361,277.28 – Sports Ground Contribution
£111,024.00 – Swimming Pool Contribution
£10,000.00 – Workforce Development Contribution
0.3456 hectares must be provided and laid out as informal recreation space.
0.1728 hectares must be provided as parkland.
