Police are appealing for information following an assault which occurred on Sunday 26 May 2019 in the car park at Co-Op, Boscombe Road, Amesbury.

At around 10.20 pm the victim, a 12-year-old boy, was walking towards the shop with his mother when a white van pulled up in front of them.

The driver got out and shouted abuse at the boy then assaulted him. The victim’s mother intervened and man left the area.

The victim was left scared and upset but was not injured in the incident.

The driver who was unknown to the victim and his mother is described as white, large build, aged mid 50’s with grey hair. He was wearing a checked shirt and jeans.

Police believe that this was an isolated incident and a number of enquiries are ongoing including analysis of CCTV in the area.
